President Trump reaffirmed he supports the people of the U.S. Postal Service after he slammed the agency for being poorly run. On Friday, the president tweeted, “I will never let our post office fail.”
He went on to claim it’s been mismanaged for years, “especially since the advent of the internet and modern-day technology.” He added, “The people that work there are great and we’re going to keep them happy healthy, and well!”
I will never let our Post Office fail. It has been mismanaged for years, especially since the advent of the internet and modern-day technology. The people that work there are great, and we’re going to keep them happy, healthy, and well!

His tweet came hours after he called the USPS a “joke” for not raising their package prices before asking for government aid.
“They’re handing out packages for Amazon and other internet companies. Every time they bring a package, they lose money on it. So Amazon, other internet companies and delivery companies are dropping…a big portion of packages and whatever else they’re doing into a post office. The post office is supposed to deliver the packages and they lose a lot of money.” – Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States
According to reports, the USPS could shut down by June if it doesn’t receive federal funding.
